Canada Super Visa
The Canada Super Visa is a multi-entry visitor visa that allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to stay in Canada for up to 5 years per visit, with a visa validity of up to 10 years.
Unlike the regular visitor visa which only allows stays of up to 6 months, the Super Visa is designed specifically for family reunification. The Canadian child or grandchild must meet minimum income requirements and arrange for health insurance for the visiting parents.
5 Years Per Visit
Stay in Canada for up to 5 consecutive years per entry — far longer than a standard visitor visa.
10 Year Validity
The Super Visa itself is valid for up to 10 years, meaning multiple visits over a decade.
Health Insurance Required
The visiting parent must have Canadian health insurance with minimum CAD $100,000 coverage.
Income Requirement
The Canadian child/grandchild must meet the minimum necessary income (LICO) for their family size.
Medical Exam
A medical examination by an IRCC-approved panel physician is required as part of the application.
Multiple Entry
