Employer Nomination Scheme 186
Live and work permanently in Australia. The Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) allows eligible Australian employers to sponsor appropriately skilled workers for permanent residence.
Permanent Residency Pathway
After being nominated by their employer, skilled workers may live and work permanently in Australia if they meet the requirements of the relevant stream, including nomination, employment and eligibility requirements.
Critical Information
If your employer's ENS Subclass 186 Nomination is denied, the Department will also deny your ENS Subclass 186 Permanent Visa application.

Requirements
Nomination
You must be nominated by an approved Australian employer whose business is actively and lawfully operating in Australia.
Skills & Experience
Must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience and a positive skills assessment (unless exempt).
English Language
Requirement of at least competent English (e.g., IELTS 6 in each component or equivalent).
THREE CORE STREAMS
Temporary Residence Transition
For eligible temporary visa holders transitioning to permanent residence with their nominating employer. Applicants must meet the requirements of this stream, including nomination, employment and eligibility requirements.
Direct Entry
For skilled workers nominated by an employer who meet Direct Entry stream requirements, including nomination, employment and eligibility requirements.
Labour Agreement
For workers nominated by an employer that is a party to a labour agreement. Applicants must meet the requirements of this stream, including nomination, employment and eligibility requirements.
