Goal
IEC Working Holiday
International Experience Canada (IEC) is a program that allows young people from participating countries to work and travel in Canada for up to 2 years. It is one of the easiest and most exciting ways to experience Canadian life.
The IEC Working Holiday stream grants an open work permit — you are free to work for any employer, anywhere in Canada, in any job. There is no job offer required before you arrive, giving you the ultimate flexibility to explore the country at your own pace.
Ages 18–35
Open to young people between 18 and 35 from eligible countries including the UK, Ireland, Australia, France, Germany and more.
Up to 2 Years
Stay in Canada for up to 24 months and explore everything from cosmopolitan cities to stunning wilderness.
Open Work Permit
Work for any employer, in any location, in any occupation across Canada. No job offer required to apply.
No LMIA Required
IEC permits are LMIA-exempt, making the process simpler and faster than employer-specific work permits.
Travel Freely
Explore all of Canada's provinces and territories while working. Drive coast to coast, ski the Rockies, or enjoy city life.
Multiple Applications
Some countries allow you to participate in IEC more than once. Check with our team for the rules that apply to your nationality.
